In the US we waste the resource of recycling!
Why are we not using persons that are incarcerated to sort recyclables
In other words, why aren’t people in jail out at the landfill sorting trash
The
money generated from selling recycled material into the open market can
be used to offset the cost of housing prisoners which helps relieve the
burden on the taxpayer
Why
aren’t the same people raising and preparing their own food? Just think
of the animal husbandry, agricultural and culinary skills they could be
taught better preparing them for a life on the outside
With
skilled tradesmen in such demand, inmates could be trained to be
plumbers, carpenters, electricians and an array of other trades.
A program such as this will not only help relieve the financial burden
on the taxpayer it will build the self esteem of the inmates
as well.
